Storage & Handling
- Shelf Life
- 12 months
- Storage, Handling and Shelf Life Information
- Like all other finely powdered products, SYLOID 244 FP USP NF EP FCC - GRACE silica has a tendency to develop dust. During handling, precautions should be taken against electrostatic diskharges. Storage in a clean, dry warehouse to prevent against moisture and contamination is recommended. SYLOID 244 FP USP NF EP FCC - GRACE Silica for Food Applications has a high adsorptive capacity which necessitates keeping it separated from odors, organic solvents and odorant materials during transportation, storage and handling. The material stored in GRACE's original standard packaging on the pallet under GRACE's storage recommendations will meet its specifications for 12 months after the date of manufacturing. Open packages should be resealed to prevent contamination of the product. Provided the storage recommendations are followed, silica gels stored beyond the recommended shelf life are typically fit for use. However, it is advised that a quality control test be performed on the properties relevant to the application.
